Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question before booking your first class? Here are answers to the most common questions from new mums.

I’ve never done yoga before does that matter?

No! At My Yogi Tribe all of our classes are accessible to everyone. There are always options to step it up or down and we are very good at reading the class ability and adapting accordingly.

I am not very good at yoga does that matter?

Definitely not. Being ‘good’ at yoga is not about being able to touch your toes or doing fancy poses. Our classes are more about how yoga feels in your body. It’s important to us that we make each classes accessible to all ages, sizes and abilities. We have a real mix of people in every class so you’ll be sure to never feel like the odd one out.

Are your classes just for women?

No we have rolling blocks, meaning you can join us any week we have space. Once you join in a block you are guaranteed your space until you want to give it up.

Do I need a yoga mat?

No! We provide the mats for you and will have them all laid out for your arrival - so no awkward moments trying to find a space. If you have a mat that you would prefer to use you're more than welcome to bring it and swap mine out or even double up.

Can I do PAYG/drop in?

Yes! The options in the women's classes are as follows:

PAYG in person (booked in advance) £11.50

PAYG live zoom (booked in advance) £10

Blocks of 6 (to be used within 8 weeks) £66

MYT Membership (unlimited in person/zoom classes, 10% discount on all events and retreats) £45 payable on a recurring monthly standing order.

Is there an age limit?

From 15 upwards you're welcome with no upper age limit!

When can I start mum & baby yoga?

We recommend you wait until 6 weeks post vaginal birth and 8 week post cesarean birth, or until you feel ready in your own body.

I’ve never done yoga before does that matter?

No! Mum & baby yoga is easy to follow and gentle on your body. We focus on rebuilding your BAPs, back, abs and pelvic floor muscles.

What if my baby cries/sleeps/feeds/poos during class?

You’ll be in good company! The class is very relaxed and you can just dip in and out when you can. Each week is different, so there is no stress if baby is not playing ball.

What age is the class suitable up to?

Each baby is different but it's usually around crawling. Once they are on the move they tend to lose interest in the yoga and you spend most of the class following them around as they go say hi to the other babies. If your baby still does their yoga, and plays happily while you do yours - you can stay as long as you like! We've had babies there until their first birthday and others that cause mischief at 6 months!

Are the classes PAYG/drop in?

No they are block based. However we do offer trials for £12 so that you can see if it's a good fit before committing to a block. Then they are blocks of 6 classes for £69. There is some flexibility within the blocks, they don't have to be consecutive but I do need to know your 6 dates at the time of booking and missed classes are not carried over.

Do I need a yoga mat?

No! We provide the mats for you and will have them all laid out for your arrival - so no awkward moments trying to find a space. If you have a mat that you would prefer to use you're more than welcome to bring it and swap mine out or even double up.
